Colne Valley Museum is a charity run entirely by volunteers. The museum simply wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for members of the wider community who give some of their time.
We always need more volunteers so if you have a few hours a month/week/occasionally to spare, there is a wide variety of tasks, ranging from stewarding, helping in the shop/cafe...
... school visits, publicity/marketing, craft demonstrating (we can teach you), maintenance, cooking, house-keeping and looking after our archive collection - we really do have something for everyone.
If you would like to join our friendly team of helpers, learn a new skill or offer your experience, and have the satisfaction of playing an important role in the community as well as helping to preserve the past for future generations, contact us, we’d love to hear from you! Lesley Crawshaw is our new Volunteers Co-ordinator--leave her a message and she'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Our volunteers get together on a regular basis to catch up over a coffee and discuss new ideas--the next meeting will take place on on Saturday July 13th at 10am.
We are also planning a 'summer lunch' at Whiteley's Garden Centre--two alternative dates: Saturday June 29th and Thursday July 11th, meeting at 11.30. Please let Lesley Crawshaw or Margaret Woodcock know if you need a lift.
